Although we meet together as a community on Sunday mornings, its important to remember that church is not an event that we attend weekly. To have true community and a thriving church we must continue to worship and experience community throughout the week. Feel free to comment on different discussion topics, share what the Lord has done in/for you, and check back often to see what we're focusing on together....

Purpose

What is our mission statement at The Journey?

"Continuing the mission of Jesus by becoming like Him."

So...what did Jesus do?

Fed the poor, healed, forgave, preached the Good News, built relationships, sacrificed, discipled, loved, brought peace, battled social injustice, freed people...

Luke 4:18
18"The Spirit of the Lord is on me,
because he has anointed me
to preach good news to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners
and recovery of sight for the blind,
to release the oppressed,
19to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor."

II Peter 1:3-8
His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. 4Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature and escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.

5For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; 6and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; 7and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love. 8For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

We've seen what Jesus did, but what was He like?

Patient, forgiving, loving, humble, confident, joyful, had a sense of humor, powerful, understanding, peaceful, faith, compassionate, truthful...
