Mission tables should have plaid table cloths on them.
Have you ever read Colossians? If not, you should. It's pretty short, but very powerful.
First of all, how has the Word of God changed your life? In other words, what aspects of your life have changed because of what you read in the Bible?
According to Kim, the early church would read the entire letter to the church in one sitting. If you were with us tonight, you heard the entire book of Colossians read aloud. Did you SOAP? (Scripture, Observation, Application, Prayer) How did this experience affect you?
If you were unable to be at The Journey tonight, I encourage you to take 30 minutes to read and reflect on Colossians in one sitting today. Then, let us know how it goes.

Mission tables do, in fact, look good in plaid. But sometimes, yes sometimes, they also look good in plain white. After Labor Day of course. Or is it before?
I'm going to go out on a limb here and agree that Colossians does indeed rock. I decided tonight it might even be worth memorizing. Yes, it's that good. Chapter 3 especially stands out..
"Christ is all that matters, and he lives in all of us."
"Love is what binds us together in perfect harmony."
"And whatever you do or say, let it be as a representative of the Lord Jesus, all the while giving thanks through him to God the Father."
and in chapter 4..
"Live wisely among those who are not Christians and make the most of every opportunity."
Personally, I've been stuck on this "opportunity" concept for the past several months. It just keeps coming up... usually in the context that God will provide us with opportunities to do good. I look at it like a promise of sorts. Opportunities will present themselves, we merely need to recognize them - even when they may just be small events in our daily lives - and act.
