My bro is movin' here tonight...
What is the hardest thing Jesus taught us?
Pastor Steve Cecil covered Mark 14 tonight. All 72 verses.
Well, we focused on the part where Jesus says, "I want your will, not mine."
Jesus modeled the giving up of our personal will and complete, humble submission to the will of God. Jesus modeled what He taught, He didn't just intellectually instruct His disciples on what to do.
So...why don't we completely surrender our lives to God?
It's outside our comfort zone. We give up control. It doesn't make logical sense. Pride. Fear...will God really take care of me? Little things aren't worth it.
What else?
Take 1 minute right now and ask yourself: Am I incorruptably humble? Am I recklessly surrendered? Am I completely submitted?
If we are to be submitted to God's will, how do we find out what God's will is?
1. Dig into the Truth of the Bible.
2. Study the example of Christ.
3. Be sensitive to (and learn about) the Holy Spirit.
4. Practice the disciplines of prayer and fasting.
5. Seek the guidance of spiritual leaders.
What is one thing that you have a really hard time surrending to God?

I have trouble letting God take control when things start to go bad, like when I don't really see the light at the end of the tunnel... It's just really hard to let him have control when you can't see what he's doing.
